Home on the Range

Boiling yams to mash. Slicing squash into half-moons. Then I marinade the wings in a seasoned olive oil and grill over and open fire with the sauce on until the edges get crispy. I wish I was doing this on a beach in the South Pacific or even somewhere in the Southwest (where I could get authentically get some tortillas and guacamole involved). The smell alone plucks my family from the world and brings them home. She makes a pitcher of half and half and for the kids and water w basil for me .  After they’re down we have mojitos while the fire dies and then head to the chamber for grown folks business. #piecesofadream
